I spoke with Lenny Dykstra once on the telephone, and then I evicted him. I don't suppose that last one counts. I guess I don't lead a very exciting life.

Oh wait, EVERYONE at my church knows who my #2 son is, because he's 19 but is developmentally age 5 and he hugs everyone and he's a sweetheart and everyone at church tells me he is adorable and they love him. So yes, I do know one famous person. And I'm related to him too. THAT counts! =)

Dena Pawlinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14444683810125395220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6904356705735120070.post-23517830155493000122015-04-16T13:58:22.948-04:002015-04-16T13:58:22.948-04:00I love when locals make it big particularly in pol...I love when locals make it big particularly in politics AND if they stay local-minded and actually try to do something, they should get an award.Carolynnwith2Nshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18394998702410764388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6904356705735120070.post-2110514848323255962015-04-16T08:43:18.333-04:002015-04-16T08:43:18.333-04:00The most famous person I know is Renee Ellmers. &...The most famous person I know is Renee Ellmers. "Who???," you ask? Renee Ellmers is the Congresswoman for District 2 where I live. I knew her "when." As in before her political days, when she was the head nurse for wound care at one of the local hospitals here. We also attended quite a few social gatherings, and she, my hubby, and others were on several committees together here in town, like the Planning Zoning Board, the Beautification Committee etc. She also almost hit me one day when I was on my run, and she sent me flowers later, apologizing for being distracted. This was when she was running for office. She's a wonderful person and still comes to our little functions here in town when she came make the trip from D.C. Oh well.
I drove by Mr. King's house in Maine about twenty times until the person riding with me (she showed me where he lived) suggested we stop or we'd be arrested for stalking.
I too would love the respect and adoration from a best seller. I have been recognized - when a head-shot accompanied my column a couple of years ago. It was cool and kind of weird. Probably the most famous people I know are people I've corresponded with via Twitter/email, but no-one that every culturally-aware person would know. I don't know anyone on the George Clooney, JK Rowling, Paul McCartney level of fame. Though I did stand only a few feet away from Mr. McCartney while he planted a tree outside the Birmingham NEC in 1990. But fame's one of those things that I've never really wanted for its own sake. I would love to have thousands of blog readers, and maybe one day to be published and for millions to read my books and be blessed by them. But I don't particularly mind if no-one recognizes me in the street.Colin Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03292997431935215499noreply@blogger.com
